The Top Ways We Promote Our Seniors Health and Wellbeing

Health and Wellbeing

While March may be National Nutrition Month, at Plattdeutsche Home Society, we celebrate our residents’ health and wellbeing all year-round. Our facilities offer multiple ways to encourage healthy living and provide everything seniors may need.

Nutritious and Delicious Meals Three Times a Day

Promoting health and wellbeing starts in the kitchen. Ensuring our (Adult Home) seniors receive three, nutritious meals a day is of the utmost importance. Our executive chef, Tom Hendrichs, and his devoted staff work tirelessly every day to guarantee all residents are fed and meet all dietary needs.

Seniors can choose between two to three options each night, and all meals are reviewed by a certified nutritionist. With over 20 years of experience, Hendrichs and his staff serve a variety of cuisines, all of which are prepared with limited amounts of salt and sugar.

Staying Active at our Amenities

Our state-of-the-art facilities have an array of amenities that anyone can enjoy. So, whether you’re looking to get active in our fitness rooms, on our exercise machines, or meet some friends for a round of bocce ball or shuffleboard, we have many ways for our residents to get moving.

Once it’s time to relax, take a moment to slow down at our indoor pool and jacuzzi, clean up at the beauty parlor/barber shop, or browse through our extensive library with innumerable books.

On-Site Geriatric Doctors

Not only do we provide a way for our residents to stay active and eat well, but we also have on-site geriatric doctors. It’s never been easier for those who may live with chronic health conditions or just want to receive regular check-ups.

Having on-site geriatric doctors can give the family members the peace of mind they deserve, and the residents can live independently while receiving the care and attention they need.

Why Senior Communities Encourage Health and Wellbeing

There are many benefits to living in a senior community that’s dedicated to its resident’s health and wellbeing:

  • Increases cognitive function
  • Reduces isolation and feeling of loneliness
  • Improves quality of life
  • Supports engagement within the community

Having on-site amenities and social programs, such as we do at the Plattdeutsche Home Society, allows our residents to enjoy full, enriching retirements. If you’re interested in joining our community, we welcome the chance to meet anyone 65 and older into our society!
