About Us

The Plattduetsche Home Society – A Welcoming, Comfortable Senior Community

The Plattduetsche Home Society is a senior living housing complex conveniently located in Nassau County. Our Adult Home units and Enriched Housing apartments are of various sizes, including studios, one-bedrooms, junior two-bedrooms, and two bedrooms. Our Adult Day Life Enrichment Program (ADLEP) offers an engaging environment designed for older adults living at home.

Exclusively available to those ages 65 and older, we have a long, rich history in elder care. Opened nearly 100 years ago as a retirement home for struggling German immigrants, the Plattduetsche has become a vibrant community that is available to all seniors.

You will have access to an on-site skilled case management services as well as a physical therapist, a podiatrist, a psychiatrist, and a medical doctor, who visit our retirement home regularly.

Our large elevators, wide corridors with handrails, electronic smoke, fire, and carbon monoxide protectors, complete sprinkler system, and public address system create a sense of comfort and security for all residents.

The Plattduetsche Home Society has been caring for seniors since 1923 when Hempstead Turnpike was just a dusty road where a trolley ran on a single, raised track. Over the decades that followed a vibrant community sprung up around us. Today, we are located next to the Plattduetsche Park Restaurant and within walking distance of key establishments in the charming Franklin Square community.
