Chef Demos with Executive Chef Tom
At Plattduetsche Home Society, our Chef Demos are a crowd-favorite program—led by the talented and skillful Executive Chef Tom! These popular sessions offer residents a fun and flavorful experience centered around a culinary theme of the day.
Chef Tom not only takes resident requests—like chocolate, bread, or pasta—but explores different forms and creative takes on each theme. For example, during a homemade chocolate demo, residents enjoyed chocolate-dipped cookies, drizzled strawberries, handmade truffles, and more!
Participants watch the process, enjoy delicious samples, take treats home, and receive printed recipes to recreate the magic themselves. It’s interactive, educational, and always a sweet (or savory) time!

Meet Thomas Henrichs
Executive Chef
Chef Tom is the Executive Chef and Culinary Director at Plattduetsche Home Society, where he leads a talented team in preparing exceptional meals daily for over 100 residents. With a culinary journey that spans fine dining kitchens in Germany and high-volume venues in New York, Chef Thomas brings innovation, skill, and heart to senior living. Since joining PHS, he has modernized the culinary program, overseen a million-dollar kitchen renovation, and earned praise for his commitment to healthful, flavorful, and sustainable dining. His passion for food, rooted in tradition and refined through global experience, is evident in every dish served at PHS.
